2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road review: Rough around the edges

I can’t deny it, the Toyota Tacoma is an attractive truck.

Craig Cole/Roadshow

The Toyota Tacoma is a mystery to me. Fans of this truck are legion — it’s been the best-selling midsize pickup for around a decade and a half — yet every time I test one it leaves me scratching my head because the steak never lives up to the sizzle.

2020 Toyota Prius AWD-e review: Child’s play

Craig Cole/Roadshow

Toyota’s Prius is the OG hybrid. It’s been saving fuel around the world for nearly a quarter century. But this gasoline-electric car has not necessarily been a great choice for economy-minded motorists that live in regions subject to wintertime ice and snow. Rectifying this, the automaker introduced a Prius with all-wheel drive, a variant that gives up very little efficiency in exchange for enhanced traction in sloppy conditions.

  • Punchy around-town performance
  • Insane real-world fuel economy
  • Spacious interior

Don’t Like

  • Disappointing dynamics, even for a hybrid
  • Gets winded on the highway
